18th Annual Christmas Show & Silent Auction
PRESS RELEASE MINTO ARTS 18TH CHRISTMAS SHOW AND SILENT AUCTION - NOVEMBER 15-DECEMBER 6, 2014
Are you aware of all the various cultural activities taking place in the Town of Minto? We live in a community that has a vibrant cultural side that many people ignore. The Minto Arts Council is one of the bodies at the centre of making our community a place that people want to live in. Its well-received Christmas Show and Silent Auction is here again for the 18th year with an auctioning of wonderful Christmas gifts.
Many local businesses and individuals contribute to the success of this silent auction which is a major fund-raiser for the Arts Council which in turn enables it to sponsor various cultural activities and run the Art Gallery at the Harriston Library.
By coming out and supporting this event, you are supporting culture in our community which makes the Town of Minto a great place to live. Minto boasts many artists, artisans and musicians and as a result the Arts Council sponsors The Basement Café concert series, the Norgan cinema Toronto film festival series every third Monday from September to May, other than December, as well as providing opportunity for our local artists to display their works at the Art Gallery. The arts play an important role in a democracy and without culture, there is no future, at least not one that most of us would want to experience.
Come out from November 15 - December 6, 2014 and participate in your community. Auction ends Dec., 6 at 1pm.
Extended hours are as follows:
Tuesday 6:00-8:00 pm
Wednesday 2:00-8:00 pm * Open for Harristion Ladies Night!
